FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Shelly Winters Bowers Crowned Reigning Sovereign Ms. 60s and Named Grand Heiress at 2026 Sovereign Ms. Finals
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — April 13, 2026 — The Sovereign Ms. Pageant is pleased to announce that Shelly Winters Bowers of Lafayette, Louisiana, originally of New Orleans, was crowned Reigning Sovereign Ms. 60s and named Official Grand Heiress at the 2026 Sovereign Ms. Finals held Monday, April 13, in Nashville, Tennessee.
As Grand Heiress, Winters Bowers holds a distinguished national role within the Sovereign Ms. hierarchy, serving as heir apparent to the reigning Grand Sovereign and assuming the duties of the Crown should the Grand Sovereign be unable to fulfill them.
A pageant director, coach, judge, ministry-minded leader, and longtime advocate for women’s empowerment, Winters Bowers captured both the division title and one of the organization’s highest honors through her grace, poise, and purpose-driven presence.
“Shelly embodies the spirit of Sovereign Ms.,” said Founder and Director Melissa Stamper. “She represents the elegance, substance, and servant-hearted leadership this crown was created to honor.”
For Winters Bowers, the moment of crowning was deeply personal.
“When my name was called, my first thought was, ‘How great is our God,’” she said.
Known professionally as a respected hair stylist and makeup artist, Winters Bowers has spent decades helping women see beauty, strength, and possibility in themselves. Through her platform, she encourages women of all ages to pursue their dreams, embrace self-care as essential to well-being, and seek opportunities that honor their worth.
She says she was drawn to Sovereign Ms. because of its values, standards, and the meaning behind its guiding message, “Bringing Reality to Regality.”
Her Sovereign Ms. journey was marked by unforgettable moments, from arriving to find a single rose and welcome note in her hotel room to receiving a formal invitation delivered by a gentleman in white gloves, details she says reflected the elegance and intentionality of the experience.
Throughout her reign, Winters Bowers plans to represent Sovereign Ms. through the pageants she directs, judging appearances, ministry outreach, salon work, and media opportunities already taking shape. She also hopes to help grow participation in Louisiana and beyond.
Her personal motto, Live, Laugh and Love, reflects the spirit she brings to her reign, while her favorite reminder remains simple: Thank you.
When asked what people misunderstand about women in their 60s, her answer is immediate:
“That they are really young women at heart.”
Winters Bowers says she hopes to be remembered as a woman who reigned with grace, purpose, and integrity — and as an example to women considering taking a chance on themselves.
“The best investment you can make is in you.”
